LA’s 45 Grave is considered one of America’s first goth bands and the founders of death rock, but they’re actually a roaring punk rock band, known for Dinah’s banshee shrieking and Paul’s garage rock guitar. They disbanded when Graves died of a heroin overdose, then reformed in ’04 with Dinah the only remaining original member. Past members included Pat Smear (the Germs), Rikk Agnew (Adolescents, Christian Death), Paul Roessler (Screamers, Nervous Gender, Geza X) and 17 others. Their latest album is Pick Your Poison on Frontier Records.
