7 Year Bitch

7 Year Bitch was a Seattle-based punk rock band fueled by rage. They were musically aligned with the Riot Grrrl movement and the shared ethos of protest and pushback against culturally entrenched misogyny and violence. They were beset by tragedies amongst their ranks from early on, first with the accidental death of original guitar player Stefanie Sargant (’92), and then with the rape and murder of close friend and singer for The Gits, Mia Zapata (’93). Their second release, ‘94’s ¡Viva Zapata!, is a tribute to their fallen sisters.
