Overlord was one of the standouts in the Eastside heavy metal scene, with a hard-trash-rock aesthetic that set them apart from their hairsprayed peers in the early ‘80s. They released their self-financed Broken Toys EP in 1982 and contributed two songs to the legendary Northwest Metalfest compilation in 1984. Some say Overlord was a precursor to grunge. Members went on to play in Bible Stud (Van Liew, Kubsen, Logan) and My Eye (Van Liew, Loftstrom). Logan currently plays guitar for Palooka.
