Room Nine

The neo psychedelic-pop Room Nine, contrary to their Seattle music cohorts, explored sprawling kaleidoscopes of sound and space. Fully enmeshed in the social/performing circles of the Seattle “Scene”, they have been credited as a key part of what was to follow. In 1987 they released the critically acclaimed “Voices…On a Summer’s Day” album. Vanderpool went on to play in Young Pioneers and Chemistry Set, as well as being a highly-revered Seattle Rock Radio DJ for 20+ years. Rudzitis moved on to form Love Battery, who are active to this day. In the early 2000s, Room 9 briefly reformed under the name Down With People.
