Members: Robert Roth, Mark Pickerel, Hiro Yamamoto, Chris Quinn (1990-91)

Truly was a Seattle supergroup of sorts, featuring former members of Soundgarden and Screaming Trees. Naturally, Truly does sound a little like the early incarnations of those bands, but Roth’s rough, jagged guitar playing and soft, spooky singing are what sets Truly’s music apart. By the time their critically acclaimed Fast Stories…From Kid Coma album came out in ’95, Seattle was already getting pretty tired of the whole “grunge” situation, but it is a fine descriptor for Truly.
